As one of the few institutions in the world to be accredited as a zoo, aquarium, and botanical garden, it offers couples a setting unlike any other—where beautifully landscaped gardens, modern event spaces, skyline views, and unforgettable animal experiences come together to create a truly memorable wedding day. Originally opening in 1964 before moving to its current downtown location in 1988, the Zoo has become one of Indianapolis’ most recognizable landmarks and a favorite destination for couples looking for a wedding that’s both elegant and unique.

Receptions may take place in the Hulman Riverhouse overlooking White River Gardens and the Indianapolis skyline, the dramatic Dolphin Gallery featuring underwater dolphin viewing, or the spacious Bicentennial Pavilion for larger celebrations. Depending on the space you choose, weddings can accommodate anywhere from around 100 guests to approximately 300 seated guests, giving couples plenty of flexibility as they plan their day.
