Located in North Salem, just west of Indianapolis, the family-owned property has become a favorite for couples who want a wedding that feels relaxed, elegant, and deeply connected to nature. With its beautifully restored barn, scenic landscape, and welcoming atmosphere, The Old Gray Barn provides a timeless setting for celebrations of every size.

One of the venue’s most distinctive features is its authentic character. The restored barn showcases exposed wooden beams, vaulted ceilings, elegant chandeliers, and warm architectural details that celebrate its agricultural heritage while providing all the comforts of a modern event venue. As a wedding photographer, The Old Gray Barn is one of my favorite countryside venues because it offers incredible variety throughout the property. The open fields, mature trees, split-rail fencing, charming barn exterior, and beautifully maintained grounds create endless opportunities for timeless portraits. Inside, the warm wood tones and abundant natural light provide a cozy yet elegant atmosphere that photographs beautifully throughout every season.

Some of my favorite portrait locations include the barn doors, the outdoor ceremony lawn, the surrounding fields, the tree-lined edges of the property, and the gravel lane leading to the venue. During golden hour, the evening sunlight washes across the countryside, creating soft, romantic portraits filled with warmth and depth. As the celebration continues inside, the glowing chandeliers and rustic woodwork create an inviting setting for heartfelt toasts, first dances, and joyful celebrations.
